Since commencing business in 1990, our mission has been to provide viable
options to guaranteed cost insurance. Our singular focus remains unchanged.
We are dedicated to serving the unbundled alternative risk transfer (ART)
marketplace, and within the context of that market, our credo has always
been that we take the lead from customers. Brokers, risk managers and
program managers have high expectations of performance as they seek risk
partners in their complex insurance programs. Therefore our job is to
design and execute financially sound, creatively conceived structures to
accomplish customer's individual goals, one customer at a time.
The alternative risk market has grown and matured significantly in the past
20 years and the development of Discover Re has paralleled those dynamics:
We have produced significant gross written premiums through our individual
risk and captive businesses, and we have built and enhanced our organization
with a technology, finance and backroom platform that we believe is
unrivalled in the industry. We hope that in the eyes of all of our
constituents, we have distinguished ourselves as the leader in the unbundled
ART world.
While our heritage is entrepreneurial, our organizational affiliation to the
Travelers has strengthened our company and enabled us to flourish.
Our expertise in the alternative risk transfer business and knowledge of
unbundled structuring is a complement to our parent company's businesses.
